I just had a terrible night's sleep. Didn't dream anything horrible or feel achy, I just couldn't sleep. 3 AM and I am ready to jump out of bed to start the day. I knew that was too early so decided I'd stay in bed, fall asleep and make it to 5 AM. So, after what had to have been 2 hours I rolled out of bed at 3:30.
Subconsciously I was a kid again and my mind was behaving like it was Christmas Eve. It's not like I went to bed thinking "I can't wait to get up at 3 in the morning to watched the Suns/Spurs game. I've done it a hundred times before; tape the game on Sunday since I don't watch sports that day and get up early to watch it before work and before anyone can tell me the result. I even turned off my cell phone so that I wouldn't be able to tell who won based on the number of text messages that came in.
But there I was, and it felt like Christmas. After a half decade of miserable happenstance and losing to the Spurs in the playoffs, cheering and screaming inside, in silence, like I've done many times before. After all I couldn't wake my wife and 3 sleeping beauties. It's only 4:45 AM.

Yes, I must agree that this was WORTH coming out of the blogging abyss and post for the first time in over a year. See you next year when the Suns take it again!
