This is L.A.

After being home for a month, Cheri decided we needed to get out of the house and called her sister Tauna to see if she wanted some extra company. We had told Chris and Tauna several times that we needed to just drive out and visit them since it really wasn't that far. So, we decided to around 1 or 2 Friday afternoon and we were on the road by 4. On the way I realized that I had never been to LA. San Diego, San Fran, Sacramento, Hollister, Tiajuana, yes, but never the big city.
It was great! I got to see the Hollywood sign, we walked on a section of the red carpet for the oscars that coming weekend, and I even got to stomp of Tom Cruise's star! Okay, so we didn't really care a whole lot about any of that, but it was nice to see our niece Claire for the first time. Keara loved having another real baby around and Taryn learned a lot from her older cousin while we were there.
Keara also quickly became attached to her Aunt and Uncle. The saddest day, when Chris had to work on Monday, Keara, upon hearing the slightest sound outside, would point toward the door and proclaim Chris was coming. And during the rest of the time there she would always point out and remind us that there's Tauna, there's Chris.
And why shouldn't she be in love with them. Besides being great, they showed her Diddy Riese's famous Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches and took her to the funnest playground she'd ever seen.

Story time by Uncle Chris!

Claire and Taryn get a little closer and get a little taste of what it would be like to have a sibling so close in age. (there are about a month apart)

Unfortunately this video was taken sideways. And unfortunately Cheri stopped recording before you could see what happend next. So, watch the video before continuing...okay, ready, so, to preface the event; we had just finished swimming where Keara hated the cold water compared to the hot water in the mandatory showers. Her day wasn't the best, but she was super excited for the park and the many slides which she only recently overcame the fear to go down by herself. (In fact if you are even near her, she'll demand you get away before she'll go down) The name of this particular section of the park was the cockpit. The overall shape was more or less that of an airplane. And what you don't see after Keara's failed attempt to climb the slide was that as she is skipping away to her left she clotheslines herself and skips right into the wing. We're not sure how she didn't see it since it was right at her face level. But she ended up smashing her lip into her teeth. I know, kind of a strange way to end, but it was kind of funny even though you feel bad for you child.
